Main Responsibilities:
As a security technician, you will be part of our Telecommunications Section, which carries out deployments, maintenance work, and everything from minor installations on our technical surveillance systems to larger conversions of, for example, substations. The Armed Forces use several systems regarding alarms, CCTV, intercoms, access control, and IT. Together with colleagues, you will work on supervision, documentation, repairs, and preventive and corrective maintenance inside and outside facilities and installations within the Armed Forces in Arboga and other locations. The work is conducted both indoors and outdoors regardless of the weather and requires a practical mindset to handle the various types of cases that may arise.
About the Organization
The Telecommunications Section, along with an IT section, is part of an Implementation Department in Arboga (GA Arboga). We work on both long-term projects and daily issues, where everything from new installations needs to be planned and deployed to maintaining and ensuring technical surveillance within the Arboga garrison. The Armed Forces have a strong value base built on openness, results, and responsibility. The organization offers great variation and complexity and places high demands on IT security.
We Offer You
The Armed Forces offer theoretical training in technical surveillance, which requires prior practical experience. Three hours of training during work hours per week. The Armed Forces provides training clothes, and you will receive compensation for training shoes and certain entry fees. A good balance between work and leisure with flexible working hours and 28-35 vacation days depending on your age. Salary supplements during parental leave and VAB, as well as the opportunity to exchange vacation days for additional pension contributions.
Qualifications
- Education focused on Telecommunications/Electrical/IT/Networks
- Documented experience with alarm, security, and access control systems
- Good knowledge of IT & networks
- Good knowledge of Swedish and English
- Driver's license (manual transmission)
Meritorious
- Experience with the Armed Forces' operations and organization
- Work with mechanical and electronic locks
- Experience/knowledge in electrical work
- Military basic training
- Training on mobile work platforms
Personal Attributes
We are looking for someone who is engaged and responsible, has an easy time connecting with people, and has a good ability to express themselves verbally and in writing. You have a high security awareness and are a good team player in our work group, striving to achieve high-quality results. At least 5 years of experience in the industry is required, and you should be self-sufficient when it comes to troubleshooting and actions. Personal suitability will be given great importance.
Other
Start date as soon as possible by agreement. The position is a permanent employment as a civilian employee and begins with a six-month probationary period for those not employed by the Armed Forces. System support trips abroad may occur for the purpose of maintaining the systems of international forces.
The position also includes on-call duty for a few weeks per year, inconvenient working hours, and business trips that may sometimes involve overnight stays. Welcome with your application by 20260331.
